Hey Everyone!
I was pleasantly surprised to see that Garrett made this. I think it is actually kind of cute : ]
I thought I would take a minute to answer the one questions I have been getting from EVERYONE lately: What is it like to plan a wedding?
Simple: A horribly, beautiful thing.
I was driving home from school yesterday and the song "I'm Yours" came on. I was totally daydreaming, picturing our wedding day and what it is going to be like. I got so excited thinking about it. It was enjoyable, at least for those 30 minutes in my car driving home from school, to picture what the day is going to be like. It isn't very often that I get those moments, nursing school is very time consuming (which by the way I absolutely LOVE nursing school. Maybe that's a post for a later day...)
Now, I know what the response from some of you will be: "We told you planning and wedding and going to nursing school was going to be stressful!" Let me assure you, I never said I was stressed (although Garrett, my family, and Garrett's family can attest to my very FEW stress moments. I am pretty sure the definition of nursing school in the dictionary is "a ridiculously stressful time of life"). I have so many people around me willing to help me with the wedding it takes the stress off of me. It is truly a blessing knowing Garrett and I have so many people in our lives that love and support us. I am not one to stress easily and planning a wedding is no different. I enjoy picking out all the things that will make my wedding special and unique. I enjoy being able to visualize my wedding day as a time Garrett and I will never forget, as something we planned together. I don't enjoy the unnecessary dramas that come with planning a wedding, but they too will pass. Like I said, planning a wedding is a horribly beautiful thing.
I am sure Garrett and I will be posting things often. Maybe for people to enjoy or maybe for ourselves, but it is fun to be able to put our experiences into words. Maybe this weekend I will post what nursing school is like...
Here is the list of people in our wedding party:
Maid of Honor:
Bekah- A best friend of mine from high school. Freshman year we taped one of our hairs into each others year book. We both still have them taped in. I think I would cry if I ever lost it.
Bridesmaids:
Jaclyn-It took awhile for us to find each other (and a lot of wasted time), but we finally realized we are a good match. I can't wait to have our shared backyard so our babies can play together.
Emily-My little cousin. No matter how long we are apart, we always pick up where we left off. Oh and she is absolutely beautiful.
Mandy-We met in college and I am so thankful she puts up with my crap. What would I have done without someone to talk to me at 6:45am on the way to Microbiology?
Ashley-My older sister who used to sing the sister song to me from Barney. I know, we were pathetic.
Brittney-My little sister, who at times is so much like me it is terrifying.
Flowergirls:
Allie- I will never forget the look on her face when Garrett and I took her to Chuck E' Cheese for her birthday. Priceless.
Alyssa-Shelly's daughter who tells me all the time how excited she is to be in the wedding. Oh and she likes to tattle on Chloe if she decides to get her hair cut (totally shouldn't cut your hair if you are going to be in a wedding!)
Chloe-Little Chloe who's mother was scared to leave her with me when she was a baby. Now she has no problem leaving all three of her kids with me!
Ellie-I had the opportunity of seeing her first haircut. Ellie and I will forever have a strong bond : ]
Ring Bearers:
Blace-My nephew who isn't so little anymore.
Brenden-Garrett's little cousin. He is so excited to carry the rings at the wedding. Every time I see him he tells me about it.
Best Man:
Andrew-Garrett's best friend. There are no words to describe him.
Groomsmen:
Brett- Garrett's brother. I will never forget the valentine's day he asked Crystle to be his valentine. Then the four of a shared a nice Chinese dinner.
Drew- Garrett's brother. Good memories of hanging out with drew in Hawaii. He also has some pretty sweet photography skills.
Jordan- My "little" brother. Many memories of Jordan on the trampoline...

Grant- Little grant. Many many sand castles built with grant in Hawaii.
That's all for now,
Brooke
The Start...
Well...this is my first post (i heard blogging is all the rage)...so i thought id try it.
The countdown has begun...the wedding is in approx. 3 months, and 9 days. To be honest I am getting pretty nervous, but I guess thats normal. Its going to a really big change, but im pretty excited.
Ne ways, we went to Bed Bath & Beyond to register....(i was dragging my feet to go there)..but man, when i got there..it was amazing! Everything you could possibly want for your home, they got it. I was very surprised. It was like a Home Depot for interior decorating...Wow that sounded gay...ne ways, its was fun.
Later,
Gee
